| Judith was 42 years old when her husband, Pastor Samuel Clemmer died. He left her a widow with five
children ranging from 18 to 2 years old. She had sold everything and had moved
to the English speaking city with her husband. She remained in Philadelphia to
raise her five surviving children. She must have been a remarkable person.
She is listed in the Philadelphia Directories as a dry goods merchant. Her
children respectfully A.G. became a Piano and Organ manufacturer, Catherine,
the wife of an outstanding Preacher, Jonas a Drug salesman and Joel, besides
being the church organist, became the treasurer of a major corporation in
Philadelphia. She was 67 year old at the time of her death in 1895.
